The inaugural show of IDEA Odyssey Gallery held in May of 2011, A Sense of Place, is comprised of a collection of work in painting, drawing, photography, and mix-media that represented contemporary art exploring the varied aspects and roles of the artist within their culture and in society at large.
Curated by award-winning visual artist, Juan Alonso, whose work has been greatly inspired by his homeland, Cuba.
A Sense of Place featured the following artists: Anita Feng, Carina del Rosario, Darius Morrison, Elizabeth Jiménez Montelongo, Gregory Schaffer, Ilvs Strauss, Jennifer Arlem Molina, Jo Moniz, June Sekiguchi, Laura Castellanos, Michele Domingo, Minh Carrico, Roldy Ablao, and SuJ’n Chon.
